2009 K-League Cup
The K-League Cup 2009, known as Peace Cup Korea 2009 due to the competition's sponsorship by Peace Cup Organization Committee.[1] This is South Korea's league cup competition for K-League's 15 football clubs. The competition began on March 25, 2009, and ended with the two-legged final on September 2 and September 16.
Format
Group stage
All clubs playing in the K-league, except they are competing are AFC Champions League. In group formation, Group A was composed an odd rank clubs in previous season, plus newly formed Gangwon FC. Group B was composed an even rank clubs in previous season. All clubs are playing each other once, only winner and runner-up of each group go to knockout stage.
Knockout stage
Winner and runner-up of each group and 4 clubs are competing in AFC Champions League participate in this stage. this stage is tournament form.
